Day Seven

The ramp is almost done. The step is very nice.

And here is the pocket for the pocket door to the bathroom.

Day Six

The electricians came today and ran most of the wiring, adding electrical boxes, etc. With the power on and off (not to mention the 90 plus heat!), only a little work was done outside. They've added soffits to the roof eaves and started on the decking for the ramp.

Day Five

The plumbers did come today and removed the washer and dryer, the toilet, and the sink. You can also see the rough ins for the washer and dryer.

Exterior work continued putting the roof for over the ramp.

Day Three and Four

After a couple of days off from our project, the guys returned and dug post holes for the covered ramp. We did not take pictures of the holes in the ground and concrete.

Day Four involved putting up the roof for the covered ramp. Malcolm is really enjoying the work!

Plumber comes tomorrow and we will lose the washer and dryer.

Day Two Demo

They added the floor for Miles' room over the concrete slab. The doorway to Miles' room was widened and also moved the back door so that the work area could be locked up.

Day One Demo

The first day of demo was pretty impressive. Walls were removed and the porch was framed in. They have left the washer and dryer in for as long as possible for us.

Before

Here are the details of our remodel of the back hallway and screen porch to make a first floor bedroom for Miles and an ADA bathroom. This is what the space looked like before renovation.

The back hallway which will be widened.

The half bath which will be converted into a laundry room (stealing some space from the garage).

The laundry room which will be converted into an ADA bathroom.

The portion of the garage where we are stealing ~1 foot of space (the awkward space to the chimney to the door).

The screen porch which will be enclosed to make a bedroom and accessed by a covered ramp.
